This style is 5/8" shorter than the standard CD 238, and is believed to have only been produced in 1933-1934, replaced soon after by the more common CD 238.

Note: I question if this embossing actually exists. All the CD 238.1 specimens I have seen have a brass bushing embedded in the pinhole.
